All writers and translators at mitanderenworten are native speakers who draw on many years of experience. We work professionally to a high level of quality and in accordance with the latest standards. This means that we pay attention not only to spelling, grammar and semantics but also to the silent meanings between the lines, to cultural sensitivities and to the socio-political impact of respective text passages.
At mitanderenworten we are aware of the significance of language

Ralf is a trained social worker and educator, in his former life he graduated in computer science and soon he will start his psychotherapeutic specialization. He has been translating and writing for more than five years; through mitanderenworten he wishes to support our clients in getting uncomplicated access to better texts, thus successful communication. Besides writing, he focuses on numbers and order at mitanderenworten: no one has ever seen him being late to anything. His favorite topics are social work, addiction, psychotherapy, computer science and gaming. Ralf is obsessed with long conversations and traveling. His languages are German and English, and he loves translating texts of all kinds. Ralf feels most comfortable surrounded by friends and is hopelessly in love with his life as a freelancer

Mira attended a bilingual school in her home country and had her first experience in interpreting at around 6 years old, explaining her overeager father’s business ideas to venture capitalists who were on vacation in Albania. Like many children of emigrant parents, she interpreted in government offices, courts and various institutions in Austria for family and friends, before realizing how burdening that can actually be (2 decades later during her psychotherapeutic training). The social worker/pedagogue and mom of a teenager has been working as a ghostwriter for the last few years and at mitanderenworten – apart from writing – she is responsible for logistics and client support as well as the coordination of authors. Her favorite topics are social work and pedagogy, psychotherapy, care work, sex work, feminism and literature. She prefers to translate books, write prose, scientific papers and press releases. Mira regularly dreams of spa weekends far, far away. Her languages are German, English and Albanian.

What is an intersectional analysis?
When we analyze a text intersectionally, we examine both its effect on the reader and the socially relevant dimension of the content. The term “intersectionality” was coined in the 1980s by U.S. attorney Kimberlé Crenshaw and describes the intersection of different forms of discrimination. For the focus of our work at mitanderenworten, this means finding answers to the following questions:
- Are cultures, regions, or people in your text being portrayed or addressed in a problematic way?
- Does your text contain passages, categories, or terminology that might have discriminatory or marginalizing effects?
- What discourse(s) does your content dock to?
- Does it strengthen relationships or does it promote damaging relational thinking by being written in a racist, sexist, or otherwise exclusionary way?
- Can you expect a shitstorm with your content? How can you prevent it?

Pricing is a complex issue. It reflects working time, experience and appreciation. We discuss our price calculation on a regular basis and know that money is an emotional and moral topic. Our work is intensive and we wish to offer our customers the best possible individual service. At the same time, we look after ourselves and our capacities, as well as important personal balance besides our passion for your texts.
We understand the importance of the right words and wish to give our clients access to better communication. For this reason, we have decided to offer our services at a reduced price for low-income individuals and projects, associations, as well as initiatives with a small budget: Especially for LGBTQIA+ folks or projects, associations and initiatives that do anti-racist, anti-sexist work and/or are engaged in activities for stigmatized and discriminated target groups. We find that especially in these areas there is a high demand for professionally designed internal and external communication, we are passionate about supporting with our knowledge and experience in this field. If one or more of the above mentioned factors applies/apply to you, your project, your association or your initiative, please let us know. We are looking forward to getting to know you!
